At the east end of Durham Cathedral are nine chapels.
The central chapel is dedicated to Saint Cuthbert, patron saint of the city.
The furnishings for the two chapels which face the aisles, have been designed
  by Malcolm Lochhead.

The north chapel, dedicated to Saint Hild of  Whitby was dedicated in 2001.
