In
the top section the Clyde has changed colour to suggest the notion
of the "Red Clyde". A famous landmark, the Finnieston
Crane supports George Wylie's sculpture of the Paper Boat. Below
are portraits of the people of Glasgow
who visited the project during the month.
Andrew
Hay made a painting, subsequently translated into textile,
to illustrate three movements in Glasgow's
political life; The unfurling of the Red Flag
in George Square in 1917, the folding away of the banner
of the Upper Clyde Shipbuilders and the unfurling of the 1990 May
Day centenary banner.
