The number eleven has no major symbolic meaning in Christian symbolism. For this reason it was decided to personalise one of the chairs to its permanent home, the Assembly Halls in Edinburgh. The idea was suggested by the two vertical "1's" making up "11". These are reminiscent of the two vertical towers of the halls which are seen against a stormy night sky containing a rainbow.
